IWA 2022: 4 days filled with adrenaline

After a 3-year forced break, IWA OutdoorClassics 2022, the leading international trade fair for hunting, shooting sports, outdoor and security, has made a solid return to the German city of Nuremberg. At Pulsar, we started preparing for this event long ago. Over a year back, to be precise. Yet, until the last minute, we were not sure if this adventure would happen due to the Covid restrictions and, later, due to the massive shock after the war in Ukraine broke. We decided to go, although a lot of uncertainty was in the air. It turns out that was the best decision, because, at the end of the day, you realize that only by doing what you’re best at you can make a positive change. A change that nowadays is more needed than ever.

Being the manufacturer of thermal devices and proudly carrying the “Made in Europe” flag, we always aim for honesty and openness. We learn from our mistakes to be able to innovate and present the best of the thermal there is. Having said that, you guys, have turned our days at IWA into one priceless experience!

The Merger stand was probably the one that drew the most attention. Although the range of new Pulsar riflescopes – from our flagman Thermion 2 line to the compact-sized Talion – also got a fair share of visitors. Meanwhile, the local German audience was showing immense interest in the extended line of Axion 2’s (the use of riflescopes for hunting is not yet allowed in this country).

Zeiss at the IWA 2019: hunting app and new campaign, Rangefinder, Victory V8 and more

IWA 2019 / New from Zeiss: at the IWA 2019, Zeiss will be presenting an upgraded version of its Hunting app, a new communication campaign, and classics such as the Victory or Conquest ZF series. The free hunting app from Zeiss includes functions such as a ballistics calculator, hunting diary, weather forecasting and the overview of your hunting equipment.

Zeiss Rangefinder and Zeiss Hunting App

The Zeiss Hunting App can also be connected via Bluetooth with the laser rangefinders of the Zeiss Victory Rangefinder system: the app transmits personalized ballistic profiles to the rangefinder. The latter combines the data with information about range, inclination angle, temperature and air pressure and calculates the exact value for the click or reticle rapid adjustment (ASV).

Another advantage: the app automatically supplies the rangefinder with software updates. So the device is always up to date.

Interview with Rebecca Schönfelder, Exhibition Director of IWA OutdoorClassics, on the situation for exhibitors and visitors

The 2021 trade fair year is coming to an end and – due to the current pandemic situation – once again leaves many questions. These in particular concern the trade fairs in the coming quarter. Also around the IWA OutdoorClassics 2022 there are concrete questions that those responsible have to face. In the interview with Rebecca Schönfelder, the Exhibition Director of IWA OutdoorClassics, we want to answer the currently relevant questions and provide an insight into the current trade show business.

Let’s talk for a moment about the event itself.
Give us some idea of what visitors can look forward to in March 2022.
Exactly where should they expect the biggest changes?

Schönfelder: “Well, one thing’s clear for sure: we won’t be reinventing the wheel! In its first return since the COVID-19 pandemic began, IWA OutdoorClassics will again be presenting time-tested, well-rehearsed event features. And in fact, at some points we’ve adapted the existing concept to the current situation. In 10 exhibition halls, we’ll be focusing carefully on what we’ve missed most during the time with no events – personal dialogue and networking. Which is exactly why we’ve decided to set up our new Community Areas, and to combine smaller forums on a big, shared IWA Stage. We want to bring participants together in as many locations as possible at the show. Unfortunately, exhibitors and visitors will have to do without the popular IWA Party. But as a substitute, we’ve planned for several after-work gatherings in outdoor settings. And the event’s entertainment factor won’t be short-changed – there will be a major get-together with a rustic theme, as well as highlights like a live cooking demo.”
