The Zeiss Victory RF 8×54 is quite possibly the ultimate rangefinder binocular for hunting in extreme low light conditions. Firstly their exceedingly high-grade optical glass and coatings ensure that they have excellent light capture and transmission capabilities. Then added to this, the 8×54 combination produces an exit-pupil that is 6.8 mm in diameter. Thus these produce a shaft of light that is more than large enough for your eyes even when your pupils are dilated in very poor light. The field of view is good and makes target acquisition easier, even at a close range. At 14mm, the eye-relief is acceptable, however, should want to keep your glasses on whilst looking through your binoculars, the 17mm you get on the 8×42 Victory RF, may make for a better option.
